Finally, Fishing Gear for Women That Doesn’t Suck
Share
Let’s be honest: most fishing apparel for women is either unflattering, unavailable, or obviously just shrunk-down men’s gear.
We’ve all been there — pulling on a shirt that “technically” fits, only to find it bunches in weird spots, lacks pockets, and leaves you looking frumpy in every photo of your big catch.
And it’s not just about looks. Ill-fitting gear can ruin your whole day on the water. Tugging at sleeves. Searching for a place to stash your pliers or phone. Getting sunburned in spots you thought were covered.
It’s frustrating. It’s distracting. And it’s unnecessary.
That’s exactly why I started True Fishing Gear.
Inspired by my grandma Addie — a classy, catfish-skinning legend — and my own experience as a woman who loves fishing but hates looking sloppy doing it, I decided to start simple and start smart.
🧢 We launched with high-quality UV shirts and hats from Legacy (L2 Brands) — American-made, breathable, and made to fit real women.
👕 We added fun, soft t-shirts that actually look good and feel good when you’re out on the water (or grabbing bait and a beer afterward).
These aren't just placeholders. They're the foundation.
We’re not just creating clothing — we’re creating confidence on the water.
When you wear something that fits, protects, and flatters, you fish differently. You feel better. You show up more fully.
That’s what we mean by: look good, feel good, fish good.
Right now, we’re also working on something I know you’re going to love — a fishing bag designed just for women.
It’ll wear crossbody or as a waist pack, hold your tackle, your phone, your lip balm — and still feel lightweight and sleek.
Made in the USA. Made by women who fish.
